microClaudia
A key tool against ransomware
microClaudia is a vaccination center that is part of the CLAUDIA engine and specializes in offering cyber protection against ransomware-type malware (the one that is dedicated to blocking access to computers and their files through encryption, in order to blackmail and demand financial compensation from the affected user).
microClaudia consists of an agent that is installed on Windows systems and a web interface designed for vaccine management within the systems where it is installed. Currently, it has several types of vaccines:
- Mutex type, that make the ransomware believe that it is already running, even if it is not true.
- File Type,which make the ransomware believe that it is running through a malware scanning environment, to prevent its actual execution.
- The ones that avoid directly that a process runs.
